Hello everyone, as you can see SpEeDr and me started working on a new version of Crazy Capture The Flag originally thought up and created by Jessica back in 2004-5 or something. It was immensly popular then because it had many custom weapons, little secrets and special stuff.

I've fixed a few glitches here and there in the source code provided by Jonwil in the TT 4.6 server scripts and combined it with Dragonade 2.92's latest release by @Whitedragon.
Vehicles are enabled in Crazy CTF, though only the APC's and Hummer + Buggy.
You cannot pickup the flag while inside a vehicle, nor can you drive in it while carrying the flag, you can however be a passenger of a vehicle. Furthermore you need to know that you cannot capture the flag while you are inside a vehicle, you have to get out and walk over the flag pedestal to actually score. Returning your own flag while inside a vehicle and driving over it, is possible.

You can look up the !score and your capture- and some other gaming stats by typing !stats <playername>
Those stats are processed once every map at the gameover event for every player in the server. If you leave the server before the end of the map; tough luck, your stats are lost for that map. (i will see if i can fix this soon tho).

If you have bug reports, concerns, feature requests or thoughts about Crazy CTF then feel free to post them here.

TODO - A bug or feature that will be fixed sooner or later
PENDING - This has been fixed but has yet to be installed on the server
DONE - This has been done and is applied on the server
NEGATIVE - This will not be fixed or added

    TODO List:
    Coming shortly.......

If you are new to Tiberium Crystal War (and the Renegade W3D engine in general) you also need to run the installations for VC++ 2012 and VC++ 2013 and the DirectX Update.
You can find these in the Prerequisites folder of the checked out folder. Simply run them and install them.
The game should then definately run

If you get errors or conflicts in your folder then you need to perform a cleanup. This is done by right clicking on the folder and going to "TortoiseSVN->Cleanup..."

Once clicked it will open a new window where you must select all options and press OK:

Once the cleanup finished running you *should* see something like this:

If for some reason your cleanup doesn't work, then post in the forum here please.

    Public Testing
We've decided to make the Tiberium Crystal War 2.0 testing public.
It is very timeconsuming to find people willing to test and get them to be active on the forums and all.
So we figured it would be nice to just make it a public thing.
You can now download the client through SVN and join the testserver.
We hope you like trying it out, but keep in mind that the game is not finished at all and you may of course give suggestions.
I encourage everyone who decides to download it to register on our forums and report any issues or questions.

    What you will need
    TortoiseSVN program - http://tortoisesvn.net/downloads.html
You will need the program called Tortoise SVN to download (or Checkout/Update) the game test client.

To install (aka "Checkout") the "Tiberium Crystal War 2.0 Test Client" you need a username and password listed below:
    Username: tcwtester
    Password: testersonly15

Create a new folder in any location of your choice, for example: C:\MPF Games\Tiberium Crystal War 2 Test\ or even your desktop will do but NOT your Program Files or Program Files (x86) folder.

Right click the folder you created and you will see an option named "SVN Checkout" select this and a popup window will be opened.

Enter into the URL portion, this address: https://svn.multiplayerforums.com/svn/tcw/Client (right click on the link and copy it)
The screen should look like this and press OK:

Next you will be presented with a login screen where you enter the username "tcwtester" and password "testersonly15" (no quotes).

No further changes are required, press OK and it will begin to download the latest updates (about 2 GB) from the SVN Repository which may take a while depending on your internet speed.

Once done downloading, you have the latest files from SVN.
Updates to the game will be posted here in the forum. Once a new version has been submitted, simply right click the folder and click on "SVN Update" and it will download the posted update, and keep you up to date.

    Keeping the Client Up2Date
Everytime we update the server and client you will need to SVN Update on your end.
If you get "Version Mismatch" or "You need Tiberium Crystal War to play here" messages when trying to join, it means your Test client is out of date.
Simply right click on the folder and choose "SVN Update" and wait for it to download the new and modified files:

Now you should be able to join the server again. If not: Please post on the forums.

    Play & Test
Run the TCW2Launcher.exe file in your folder. Goto the Direct Connect tab. Enter your player name and connect to play/test.

zunnie got a reaction from SpEeDr in Updating anticheat hash file on server
    Update the anticheat.ini file
Everytime you want to play a (new) custom map or file on the server you need to update the anticheat.ini file inside the server data folder.

Using XCC mixer to copy the hash files
Download XCC and put it somewhere on your local drive @

You also need the Hash batchfile, allow folder and the anewmaphashes.ini file which are contained in this zip file:
    hashfiles.zip

NOTE: Goto the zip files properties by right clicking on them and choosing "Properties" and "Unblock" it before extracting it.
Place it inside your servers main folder.

In this example i'm going to hash the files for the map C&C_Bridge_Control.mix but the procedure is the same for every map.
Open the XCC mixer you downloaded and browse (by double clicking the drive/folders) until you get to the location where the map.mix file is at.

Double click that mix file to open it in the XCC mixer and you should see something simular to this:

Now you need to select all files (hold shift and or control to select multiple at once), the files that need hashing are typically only the W3D, LDD, LSD, DDB, TDB extensions.
Select them in your XCC window, right click and then choose "Copy"

It will then place the files inside the XCC folder like so:

Now copy the files to your allow folder inside your server directory like so:

    Now open the anticheathash.bat file:

A window will popup and you can close it by pressing a key. The files are now hashed inside the anewmaphashes.ini file:

You copy these entries at the bottom of your anticheat.ini found in your data folder of the server:

Close the server and then upload the new anticheat.ini with ftp to the server data folder and overwrite the existing file.
There may be duplicate error messages for files that were hashed from other maps, just remove the duplicate line, and start the server again.

If you want to turn off anticheat checking for a particular file you can add it to the acallow.ini file found in the data folder as well. Edit the file and after the [AllowList] heading you add something like:
    [AllowList]
    somefile.w3d=0

    This should be all.

    Looking for Developers (not paid)
We are currently looking for Mappers, Modelers, Texturers, Skinners and Audiophiles to help work on the Tiberium Crystal War game, server and assets.

    3D Studio Max - Mappers & Modelers

We use an outdated version of 3DS Max v8 to create and modify maps and models.
Newer versions are not supported because the engine of Renegade W3D has no exporters and plugins available for those newer versions.
If you know other versions of 3DS Max is always nice of course, but remember some options may not be available in 3DS Max v8, also note that you could probably export from newer Max versions into a known format from Max v8 to import it there.

    Photoshop CS6 - Texturers & Skinners

If you a good work with Photoshop CS6 (or above) and textures or skins for terrain and/or units in DDS formats of 512x512 and 1024x1024, we are seeking you to help us make this game nice to play and watch.

    Audition (or alternatives) - Audiophiles

I'm personally not very good with audio so hence looking for someon) who is.
Jobs would be like extracting and stereo-fy and mp3-fy-ing sound effects from TW and possibly music soundtracks as well.

    Qualified?

Could be overheating. Find out what your CPU temperature is while you are gaming and if its above 65 celcius, your system may be overheating.
This could be due to dust in the fans or your cooler maybe not spinning fast enough (failure?).
Open the casing and see if you can clean the dust from there.

zunnie reacted to kenz3001 in RenegadeX 5.21 patch
Welcome back Renegaders! We're proud to release Renegade X: Open Beta 5.2, and with it some great new additions such as veterancy, an overview map, new launcher with custom map downloader, new levels, new tech buildings, and a host of bug fixes and balance changes on various maps and game settings. The full status and list of changes can be found at the bottom of this post.

The major feature for this patch is the addition of Veterancy, a long time C&C feature that has been long awaited. During a match you work your way up from the starting rank of Recruit and try to work yourself up to becoming Heroic, a truly terrifying force to be reckoned with. As you attack the enemy and support your team, you will naturally be promoted to higher ranks. These ranks come with a variety of upgrades such as increased damage, rate of fire, movement speed, and much more. This addition should further encourage offensive gameplay and teamwork, as you will find yourself earning veterancy faster during offensive operations than defensive ones.

Another long anticipated feature that has been implemented is an overview map which you can activate by pressing the M key. The overview shows all of your team's positions, as well as a summary of the classes and vehicles currently deployed, upon capturing the new communications center this overview map will also then show the location of all enemy units on the map excluding Stealth Black Hands and Stealth Tanks as these will only show up when unstealthed.

Notable new features to the launcher include:
    * Map preview videos instead of images
    * "Skip Intro Movies" option has been added
    * Custom content downloader (allows for server owners to add custom maps)
    * "Verify Game Integrity" and "Reset Game" options in the Settings menu
    * Level names are now parsed, rather than using a name translation table

We now have a new tech building! Once captured, the Communications Center reveals the positions of all visible enemies on your compass and the overview map. This structure can be found on Field and may be introduced into other levels in the future.

We've also been working on levels!

Field has been expanded by adding Power Plants and new paths

Arctic Stronghold features a custom EMP Cannon as a tech building

Fort features two custom tech buildings: a Medical Center, and a Fort

Gobi is a take on remaking and improving the original C&C Renegade fan map

Tomb has been updated with numerous bug fixes and balance changes

Crash Site is back with many improvements, be sure to check them out
