    Hello people!
    We had the feeling to give a report of current changes.
     
     
    New event!
    We've founded a very cool weekend event idea for this weekend (21, 22, 23 February 2020). Let me show you what is this event.
     
    In this event, every vehicle has the ability to fly. We've been working for this recently, and finally it is ready!
    We need some generous streamers and YouTubers for this event, to record this. You may watch how it works of this below.
     
    Simply, when you enter vehicle, it will be converted to a flying form, so it can fly everywhere and aim every position as normal. When you get out of your flying vehicle and can't get in, you will need to use the hologram object to enter your vehicle. (Pressing E on it.) We may continue on with this event for 1 or 2 more weekends if we receive a positive feedback from you.
     
     
    Updates!
    Recently, I have made some changes to my maps, and created a new map called Tropical Warfare (it will be fully available soon). Here are the changes I've made to other maps:
     
    Icy Plains:
    • Fix lightning in tunnel.
    • Fix a glitch about Obelisks.
    • Fix so Turret wreckages appears better.
    • Made both In-Base Transportation Vehicles faster, and 150 ammo with faster rate of fire and longer reload time.
    • Changed some parameters about ambient light.
    • Airstrip runway is now damageable.
    • Fixed SAM Site names.
     
    Snowy Mountains:
    • Fixed blockers to prevent BM-21 climbing mountain.
    • Fixed a point that was allowing people to climb on mountain at Nod side.
    • Some minor defense balancement was applied.
    • Fixed several VIS problems.
    • Fixed spy zones.
    • Fixed a critical bug about stealth controller.
     
    Lost Coast:
    • Airstrip runway is now damageable.
    • Fixed several VIS problems.
    • Fixed tiberium trees.
    • Added some more defenses.
    • Added more trees.
     
    NEW! Tropical Warfare:
    • A new map that are conntected from 3 ways.
    • Wide tunnel system that opens to front way, back way and Power Plants.
    • Evening themed, heavily foggy, warm map with heavy rain.
    • A bridge that connects to bases from in front of Refineries.
    • Lightly modified defenses that also shoots air vehicles on Nod side. (for Zeppelin)
    • Automatic Orca/Apache spawner to gain access easily to Zeppelin.
    • One of the good maps that experiences a fast gameplay.

    Hey Guys,
     
    So I know we haven't done much on the forums in the last year plus. Just wanted to give a quick update to recent changes:
     
    Donation goals have been updated (finally). Our server bills were recently lowered thanks to some couponing and frugal shopping around by @Cronus and myself. Our primary server bills are now only $60.00 USD per month which includes everything we currently host: Renegade (NewMaps, BlackEagle, reb00b, Mutant Co-Op, etc), this website, our domain costs (including C&C IRC), and forum licensing costs.
     
    In addition, I have added two more goals you can see on the sidebar of the main forums: Renegade-X and Minecraft servers; these are small expansion goals of $20 and $10 respectively, and we hope to make available to you. These are separate goals from our main server bills to more clearly indicate what servers have more (financial) support. All funds will still be pooled into the general fund, though.
     
    Forum cleanup has been initiated. Those of you with access to our Premium and Development Area will notice their descriptions have been changed to redirect traffic to our Discord. These forums are archived (read-only) for the time being. Not sure what we'll do with them yet. I went ahead and removed the Unreal Tournament and ARK sections (posts moved to our archive board) since there was no activity in them and since we no longer host a redirect service.
     
    Server and development updates are very slowly progressing. @Unstoppable has been working on a multitude of projects ranging from a new Discord bot, Black Eagle's CTF server including a ranking page for it, and a secret-ish project with me for MPF. I haven't kept up in development as much as I should have, but I'll be getting back into the swing of things in the next couple months hopefully. We now host a development server for @reborn so that he can create some goodies for MPF.
     
    Some personal updates for the staff:
     
    I (Genesis) have been out of commission for a while due to PC issues and some minor mental health needs (nothing serious; a little bit of anxiety). I've just started my University career really late it feels (30 years old) given the career with which I'm aiming, and I've been tired from writing so much. 
     
    @unknown has been dealing with forest fires in Australia recently. He also maintains our GS02 game server (NewMaps) primarily, and he manages to coordinate everyone well enough and keep everyone updated on the happenings of the servers and community.
     
    @Wyld has been incommunicable for a while, and no one has been able to reach him for over a year now.
     
    @Cronus has been just working at his day job and chilling and doing IT work for Totem Arts (the team behind Renegade-X). 
     
    @alexrirak has been working at his day job and chilling. He pops in often to check on things and do some small coding projects and forum fixes.
     
    @FeaR has been providing a PayPal account for your donations and working.

    No, in 1v1 fights Technician would easily kill Hotwire with flamethrower. Shotgun keeps it much more balanced.

    As you may or may not know, Every time text gets written to console it can cause the SFPS to drop
    It's more noticeable in larger games when brenbot needs to send its player_info command.
    To combat this we have installed a version of FDS that has no console output

     
    In our testing by spamming the console
    FDS with console output dropped to 18 from 60 sfps
    FDS with no console output dropped to 55 from 60 sfps

    Well I agree that something would need to be done. Like couple days ago we had like 10 players on Winter assault three voted yes to skip and two no so map got skipped. If either of no voters wouldnt had voted at all it would have failed. So currently !vote no means more like "maybe" and not voting means no.
     
    Problem is that if it will be like next map vote it will result almost every vote to pass no matter if its good or bad map.
     
    I think that should try to force everyone to vote by changing vote reminders into those box messages or whatever they called (which have to be closed to continue playing) and make them appear many times during the poll until player votes.
     
    Or even better box where player would need to click yes or no to continue playing. If this would be possible.

    I agree tho that time could indeed be even as low as 30min on other than IA maps. IA needs ofc at least 1 hour for game to not end up on time limit always.
     
    If match and map is really good then usually enought players will vote for more time anyway.
     
    Another possibility might be to change next map vote to be somewhere more near the beginning of the map rather than on halftime. Then vote would appear even if map is finished quickly and unwanted maps would not appear as much unless players are sleeping during the vote.
