We're proud of bringing another exciting technology to the Renegade community - MPF Renegade Map Viewer!
 
MPF Renegade Map Viewer is a web-based map/level previewing application to simulate C&C Renegade maps entirely on the browser without the need of the game, made with Unity. The application enables previewing maps in our map database (whether the download is available or not). It does so by loading all of the model files included in the map, completely on the browser, by downloading it from our TTFS. You can use it by clicking the "Preview" button to the left of the map name on the page body, and it is available for all maps in our map database. Go ahead and try it!

 

 
If you encounter a map that does not load, or does not have the terrain loaded, please report it to us by leaving a comment under the map or join our Discord to report the name of map.
 
Some notes:
Keep in mind that this application is by no means meant to load the maps in a way that it matches the in-game appearance precisely. It is just to give you an idea of the map. The application does NOT load the level data. It loads all model files in the map package. So, it may not be perfect on several maps. But loading level data is planned. Not all material types are (fully) supported. The appearance of meshes may not always reflect the in-game appearance. Mobile devices are not supported. (And option to Preview is hidden.)

Zunnie was always trying to help everyone and striving to help people enjoy all the games he worked on. He was the reason I became involved with MP-Gaming and eventually MPF. Throughout the years I've learned so much from and will truly miss him. He's had such an amazing effect on so many people. He was a great friend and an overall great guy.

Update the anticheat.ini file
Everytime you want to play a (new) custom map or file on the server you need to update the anticheat.ini file inside the server data folder.
 
Using XCC mixer to copy the hash files
Download XCC and put it somewhere on your local drive @

You also need the Hash batchfile, allow folder and the anewmaphashes.ini file which are contained in this zip file:
hashfiles.zip

NOTE: Goto the zip files properties by right clicking on them and choosing "Properties" and "Unblock" it before extracting it.
Place it inside your servers main folder.
 
In this example i'm going to hash the files for the map C&C_Bridge_Control.mix but the procedure is the same for every map.
Open the XCC mixer you downloaded and browse (by double clicking the drive/folders) until you get to the location where the map.mix file is at.

 
Double click that mix file to open it in the XCC mixer and you should see something simular to this:

 
Now you need to select all files (hold shift and or control to select multiple at once), the files that need hashing are typically only the W3D, LDD, LSD, DDB, TDB extensions.
Select them in your XCC window, right click and then choose "Copy"

 
It will then place the files inside the XCC folder like so:

 
Now copy the files to your allow folder inside your server directory like so:

 
Now open the anticheathash.bat file:

 
A window will popup and you can close it by pressing a key. The files are now hashed inside the anewmaphashes.ini file:

 
You copy these entries at the bottom of your anticheat.ini found in your data folder of the server:

 
Close the server and then upload the new anticheat.ini with ftp to the server data folder and overwrite the existing file.
There may be duplicate error messages for files that were hashed from other maps, just remove the duplicate line, and start the server again.
 
If you want to turn off anticheat checking for a particular file you can add it to the acallow.ini file found in the data folder as well. Edit the file and after the [AllowList] heading you add something like:
[AllowList]
somefile.w3d=0
 
This should be all.

I just setup our EU Based RenegadeX Server, this will have the same protection as our US server.  However majority of players are EU based, this should help with pings.

This something most of us can understand very well. Moderating for a server and especially being the leader is like having another job expect that it is unpaid. There is a lot of work that goes into it and most of it is unseen in the background. While we regret to see him go we understand that real life must always come first. Kick has done a lot of great things for furthering and advancing our Renegade Server. He will remain an admin in our community but will no longer be the leader of the Renegade Division.
 
Taking Kick's place as the leader will be r3surr3Ktx. He has really grown in our community and made it his home. He has taken up many projects that no one else wanted to and has put in a huge amount of work into both our Renegade server and community as a whole. r3 plays renegade frequently, has built rapport with the players and is willing to speak his mind and bring new ideas to the table. He has done a great job and proved himself a reliable and dedicated contributor to our community. We cannot think of a better person to lead our Renegade section.
