Strange. If you are running scripts 4.3 try this: Go into multiplayer practice mode or another server. Open console with F8, Type cleanup, Hit enter. If that don't work try clearttfs.

Do you have a firewall blocking the Renegade\RenList exe ? Also maybe try doing a tracert & ping to 74.91.113.100 & 162.248.88.129 in command prompt.

RenList: Options - > Settings - > General: Renegade executable = "Path/to/UAC Launcher.exe" Options - > Settings - > GSA: Enable GSA and fill out Nickname. Save that. Servers should show up on GSA tab now. Note: Depending where Renegade is installed may need to run RenList.exe or UAC Launcher.exe in admin mode.

Recommendations was made into a plugin instead of being a core feature. This is fine it will use the default path if cant find paths.ini Just make sure FDSLogFilePath and FDSConfigFile are correct in brenbot.cfg

Watch task manager processes sort by memory see if anything jumps when sound starts to play.

Do you have the files prefs.exe and Indt2.sys in Windows\System32\ ?
