So you try and set up a gamespy renegade server but you see this then in your searchbar in the start menu or next to it type notepad %systemroot%/system32/drivers/etc/hosts right click notepad %systemroot%/system32/drivers/etc/hosts and click run as administrator and click yes on thebox that pops up now copy this text (one line at a a time) below: 162.248.88.129 master.gamespy.com 162.248.88.129 master.udpsoft.com and paste it into the file the file should look something like this now save the file and close the window now type restart in the server console window and it should look like this now(you may have to restart your pc) and if you look in renlist you should see your server this proves i dont have to use brenbot for my server to work properly

it was either DX8 patch needed installed or that virtual memory setting needed turned off because it works now

pc is running windows 10 when i try to run c&c95 in compatibility mode for windows 95 it says the instruction 00000000 referenced memory at 00000000 the memory could not be read from then it says C&C95 is not responding but in xp compat mode it says a priveleged instruction was executed at adress 004dd5b4 click OK to terminate the apllication then says C&C95 has stopped working why does this happen?

so on maps such as c&C_the_Core, c&c_dom_tutorial, and c&c_hon_dom_b1 the control points show up but show all of the colors,red, blue, and yellow show up on the control node at the same time and the control node also can be destroyed. I think this is due to a scripts.dll or scripts2.dll file that contains the necessary scripts for control points that i dont have , also by the way i am hosting using renfds not renegade client

Also port forwarding port 4848, and other ports fixed the issue

when I start brenbot.exe you see a cmd window then an error saying the application failed to start correctly 0xc0000142 also what do I set the value GameSpy_Broadcast_Website to

the problem is one of these things in your imperial age or renegade directory you are missing one of these things: ARI_____.TTF 54251___.TTF

strings.tdb is corrupt either that or missing one of these things: ARI_____.TTF 54251___.TTF

windows 10 uses direct X 12 so direct X 8 wont install over direct X 12 infact direct X 8 diagnostics tool dosnt work with dirext X 12 you could try dx 9c install though

leveledit dosnt require scripts.dll either but no I'm not

also I already know you use custom scripts.dll

no and renegade just opens than closes after just being installed from cd

ever since I've had my windows 10 laptop it could do things as good as win7 could, first3 renegade imperial age crashes first 1-3 times I start it, and 2 leveledit crashes constantly I cant acess level settings or else leveledit has stopped working pops up system specs: intel 5500hd graphics, windows 10 build 14393.1066(stable), realtek high definition audio
