well, that was interesting.   I did not have to reinstall .    Once I used my REN disk, it asked if I wanted to use the configuration tool before starting (graphics stuff, I believe...  I'm not super computer savvy... i just know enough to be dangerous).
 
anyway, after using the config tool from the original disk, everything worked fine.    Perhaps the config tool in the update has issues?

In game send page to /host  !auth [password] to auth yourself without irc if you remember your password

i miss niagra, snow, siege ( although I see siege here once in a while).. more of the classic maps, a little more often?? 

I loved Win 98!   

Recently it seems like I can only stay in IRC or TS for a matter of a few minutes, or sometimes an hour or two...then I get a disconnect and/or a kick.    As a mod, then I have to unban myself from IRC, re enter, etc.    However it does not affect my ingame status, unless I log out of the game.
 
I thought it might be the computer, or my version of IRC and TS... (I usually run both on an old laptop next to my main computer).  But today I tried to use updated software on my main computer for IRC and TS... same result....
