CnC95 - C&C95.exe error

pc is running windows 10

 

when i try to run c&c95 in compatibility mode for windows 95 it says the instruction 00000000 referenced memory at 00000000 the memory could not be read from

then it says C&C95 is not responding

but in xp compat mode it says a priveleged instruction was executed at adress 004dd5b4 click OK to terminate the apllication

then says C&C95 has stopped working

 

why does this happen?

it was either DX8 patch needed installed or that virtual memory setting needed turned off because it works now
