Settings question?

I got a new computer with windows 8 (ugh), it seems the brightness and gamma controls don't adjust the graphics when I use renlist (which I always use to play) but they do work when I launch the game through regular renegade (tt launcher). Any ideas why?

 

Also does having almost triple fps of the server fps make it harder to play?

Dunno about gamma and brightness :/ Dont have Win8. Maybe try run in a window?

The higher your fps the smoother the gameplay is So if its higher than the servers is fine

You have teamviewer?  I don't have Win8, but if I could see your system, I might be able to help out.  I personally hate Win8, but I have used it a few times helping some friends out.  No promise though as Win8 is still pretty new to me, but I'll try my best to help you out.
