How Do I Join a MP Game

Have not played C&C Renegade in years.  Just downloaded it today 9'/01/2014.  GameSpy & Westwood were the only two default ways to join a Multiplayer game, but, both of them are now extinct.

 

1st Q:  please provide detailed instructions on how to join a multiplayer game after I click on the Renegade desktop icon, or is there another newer way to launch a MP game?

 

2nd Q:  there used to be a way to play Multiplayer without your PC constantly reading the disk.  It was some kind of Command in the game menu.  Could you also direct me where I can find those instructions on this MPF site.

Thank you everybody for all of your help, very quick help too.  Everything worked per the Links you all provided.  It feels great to be playing again.  Looking forward to playing the newest maps.
