'Failed to download required packages'

Question

'...The game will be left. Please try to rejoin.' is the error message I get trying to join the server at the moment.

Hi, never posted here, so just thought I'd say I enjoy the imperial age maps at MPF - adds some more strategy to the game and gives me a reason not to snipe all the time.

However, I haven't been able to join for the past couple of weeks because of this error message. Today I reset my computer (not solely because of this...) and still no luck. Scripts 4.7 is installed, but I assume the web server is down?

I saw https://downloads.cncfps.com/Renegade/Maps/New_Maps/ is still up, but it doesn't have everything, e.g. AlpineDB.mix - there's only Alpine and Alpine_Night.

Any ideas? Evidently everyone either has all the maps or this problem is only occurring for me because I've seen a good player count recently.

Thanks for the reply; tried it, no luck. I spoke to Unstoppable on Discord and have since tried (the first 3 things repeatedly after doing the rest):

- Downloading maps via MPF_Mappack.exe - "Failed to receive mappack manifest". (Attached a log with and without debug enabled).

- Viewing the rotationdata page: URL censored

- curl URL censored in PowerShell - gives the output expected

- Disabling antivirus / firewall

- Restarting the router to get a new IP (v4 and v6)

- Disabling IPv6

- Tracert log ( URL censored😞

Again, I've reset my computer (Windows 10 Home Premium), so it has no 3rd party software except Renegade, Red Alert 2, Yuri's Revenge, Kaspersky, Greenshot, and Discord. All Windows Updates are installed and the latest nVIDIA GPU driver is installed. It is an 8 year old laptop, so I'm not ruling out hardware issues with my network adaptor etc, but surely other things would break as well if that were the case?

Hi,

Are you able to try this again. And can you access http://ttfs.mpforums.com:80/newmaps/packages.dat from your browser ?

Hello, just 7 months late. I'm now on a different PC and still have the same problem.

Am I banned from the webserver? Chrome won't let me use that site because 'This site can’t provide a secure connection ttfs.mpforums.com uses an unsupported protocol. ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH'

I have a lot more maps downloaded on this PC, so that's why I've been able to join a few times.
