How to make a Renegade server ?

I was want to make a Renegade AOW server...but I don't know how ?

can you help me ?

Everything that MDK said is true, altho you can home host the server but yeah...

 

Basicly, overall, It's no longer paying off to host a Renegade server nowadays, the only servers that still get players, are the most known community's, like MPF (UltraAOW).

There really is no longer a point in getting a server up & running these days, as like I said above, most players are attached to those large community servers.

Also keep in Mind, that since all of the Players from Egypt have the same IP adress( what a surprise), your bandwith isnt probably high enough to host a Server at Home anyways.

I do know how to do it but how to explain how is a different matter (at least for me). A friend of mine has one running for about two years which i set up only for the purpose of testing rene stuff that we make and we get maybe 40 players per month which is not really worth keeping a server open except that we get good results from our tests when players join.

 

So i guess I would agree that setting up a server to be populated would not really work out, however, I believe learning how would be a nice thing as what you learn can always be applied in future endeavors.

I've written some good tutorials on setting up the Renegade FDS with 4.0 support http://multiplayerforums.com/forum/318-dedicated-servers/

 

But modding it and creating your own unique settings are something you'll have to do yourself...
