For the last 7 or so days some(ones) have been attacking the XWIS server and the MPF game-server and IRC. Them hitting XWIS has put alot of servers out of business of players a couple of times now. It is not just MPF that is suffering from this attack, also Jelly and RenCorner for example. We are hosting our server on GameSpy at the moment instead of Westwood Online (XWIS). GameSpy seems to be fairly stable but a lot of players connect through XWIS so quite a bit of players are unable to play Renegade at the moment which results in lower player counts It looks like these attacks are not likely to stop any time soon knowing they have been going on for over a week now. Olaf (XWIS) can't do much about a DDoS of this severity and neither can we. We can all only wait and be very patient waiting for the attacks to subside so we can finally play Renegade normal again. I hope they will stop their attacks soon Please, i know it is annoying, just keep re-joining the server when it is attacked again. If we stop playing: They win. hi, I seem to be having a problem with joining when I try to join ultra aow, the game crashes and says that "renegade has encountered an internal error" and the game shuts down I can join any other server but ULTRA AOW some help would be greatly accepted

Hello im new here and could use some help getting started, I have no clue where to start to play renegade online, like which things I need to download and in what order also how to connect to an active server . Thanks

EDIT: Server is back online in XWIS mode! XWIS (todays Westwood Online (WOL)) appears to be down for the last couple of hours now. I have placed the NewMaps server in GSA mode (listed on RenList) for now. You can connect to it using a program called RenList which fetches all available servers off of GameSpy. Simply extract the package to your Renegade\RenList folder, then run RenList.exe and set a nickname in Options. To join our server just select it from the list -maybe add to favorites- and click on Connect. Hopefully XWIS will be back online shortly and when that happens the server will be restarted. Edit: Appearently the XWIS servers which provide us with a serverlisting are being DDoS attacked. I hope the guys responsible for this will stop attacking it soon so we can have a couple of normal good old fashion games again :/
