This mod is a lot of fun but holy hell playing alone is unfair    Those damn mutants beat the crap out of me.

I have been getting that myself a lot lately. Do not feel like doing a clean install or wasting time troubleshooting it. Takes all of a few seconds to close and relaunch, then usually I am good.

I played Mutant CO-OP for the first time today. Pretty cool / fun.

Please note for anyone that has yet to play. CO-OP can not be stressed enough as those bots are a bitch and respawn quickly.

Take a lot of friends into battle with you for this one!

Did I read that correctly that you were trying to "upgrade" to Vista 64? OK Vista is a POS only second to the old Windows ME.

Any AV has the potential to cause HD performance issues if it starts a scan while you are playing a game. I have used most of them without issue, including AVG. Really just need to make sure you do a good job of setting up the scan rules and schedule. I also do not agree with not having an AV. Sure if you are careful blah blah blah. Crap happens and having AV to save your butt is a good thing. It's cheap insurance that can save you from a whole lot of hurt.

You do not specify sys specs like total ram and available ram while Ren is loaded. Would be curious as to things like that..

Also as MDK mentioned, defrag can be a HUGE help if your drive is badly fragmented.

One thing to add though:

Open task manager and click the processes tab, sort by name, find game2.exe and end that process.
