This is all so very surreal, very sad news to hear. I've know zunnie for a very long time through Renegade, and I'm saddened to hear this news. Prayers and thoughts go out his family and friends. He helped me with A LOT of stuff over the years, and he contributed more to Renegade than anyone else I know. He definitely helped keep this game alive. Rest in peace my friend. May there forever be a pot of coffee on for you, and game engines for you to tinker with.

The "Create Polygon" tool is awesome! Ended up having to use it for a few things actually. Good video as well!!! 

1. Install Renegade (assuming you have the disc with a proper serial)
2. Update to patch 1.037 (for English)
3. Go to Tiberian Technologies and download the 4.6 client installer and  launch it after it installs
4. After doing all that, you're game will be up to date, and ready to play. Log in to browse server listings, or download Renlist to join up.

Does RenIP still work? I haven't needed to use that in years. That could/should be an alternative solution for people. 

Reinstall, it won’t take long. You’re only other option without knowing the error message is to upload the dump file for the TT guys to look at, but you’ll get 50 troll messages before a legit response. I’d reinstall if it was me. 

Does anyone want to fix this? (I could, but I don't have much time these days)

If not, I'd say swap it out with ArcticXP_Beta, or a different map altogether. 

Anyone familiar with the map, Ravine? Overlook? Frag City? 

There are a lot of good maps out there, that most people have forgotten about by now. 

The "Turbo Flamethrower" is a pickup, and has been found on other maps ( I even have videos of it) as well. Why remove one map because of that?

Well it only appears to happen on IK maps, so I'm not all that concerned. I am however reformatting my PC this evening, so I'll be starting from scratch soon anyway. 

I suppose it could be a file conflict somewhere. I don't prefer to play IK maps anyway, but I'd like to join up near the end of a map so I'm ready for the next to start. It was quite frustrating.

IK releases so much new stuff, I don't think this will be the end of my struggle.

I won't be downloading a new version each time I play, I'll tell you that much.

I tried after THAT map, and Tobruk loaded just fine.

So I tried loading into Renegade last night, and was NOT able to join on Lake Garden.

If I tried through Renlist 1.8, it gave me a popup telling me I was not updated to the most recent version, but I am.

I couldn't connect thought the client itself either.

I could ever load in Jelly and play there JUST FINE.

I was also able to play Sleepy Hollow last week, and Cold River just fine.

What the hell is going on here? Do I need to download like extra shit to play certain maps?

I played last night for a solid 2 hours, and it was great!

After a decade of playing this game, the standard interface gets old. That radar is very nice in the picture, but we host too many maps here for that to work.

I noticed the other day on MetroTS, that they took an awful long time to repel down. It was my first time playing in a few weeks, so I didn't know if that was right or not.

there is a part on backface errors

Yeah, that's the error I got and I read it, and I understood it, but where it says "check in the preset list" for said object, well I can't find it. The tutorial then goes on to say that there's a chance one MIGHT have to go BACK into Gmax to correct the error. If that's the case, I won't be able to fix Pacific.

Pacific auto generating VIS is done. I made a backup copy and started doing manual VIS points. I am getting that backface error now. If someone can help me on TS over the weekend, that would be cool. The tutorial says I should locate the backface in the "instances" tab, and un check the box of that mesh. Well, I couldn't find that so I stopped for now haha.

Good to know, I will be doing the VIS for both Pacific & Arena as soon as I can. I haven't heard anything about Tiberium Temple yet, so keep your ears open.

OK, I'll crank up the Grans then and try it again over the next few days. 15 to 17 should be enough for Arena & Pacific? Has anyone tried Tiberium Temple yet? That's a small map, but any word on that from the players?
