It is with great regret that i have to tell you that SlowBurno has sadly passed away at the age of 57 after not recovering from an operation he had on 30.04.2016.
For those who knew him he was not really a forum person but spent a lot of time with us on TS (Team speak) and made a lot of friends here.
If you can all join me in sharing your respects for him.
 
I want to arrange some sort of memorial games for him so we can all get together and have a bit of fun and show our respects for him and his family. I will speak to the other staff and update this as soon as we have discussed it. (maybe a player line and a mass beacon detonation etc). I have also created a new channel on TS ("SlowBurn0 Memorial - 1959-2016") for us to join when this happens.
 
Sad times thoughts are with his family and friends.

Forum Upgrade
As you guys can probably see we (read Genesis) have been upgrading the forums to the latest version of IPB 4.
 
Site Visuals
The forums are still original styled which will be updated soon enough
Kenz3001 will probably create a new design logo as well once he got some time to do it

Downloads Area
The downloads are available as well but for some reason you cannot view files in a root game category, only its subcategories.
While this is a bit annoying we will try to fix this asap. Other than that, the downloads should be working fine.

New Feature
It is now possible to steal enemy infantry technology:
When you stand inside the enemy barracks with an engineer near the mct for 15 seconds without dying, the enemy infantry options become available in your own purchase terminal
Other Misc Updates
- Spies will be able to press E on enemies to kill them in the future co-op maps. Downside is that your "spy-ability" is lost once you use it and enemies will start firing at you.
- Add a Human Silo crate which makes the player that picked it up act like a Silo granting the whole team $2.5/sec until they die, changing characters is fine.
- Add a Team option to the regular Money crate which makes the picked up money team-wide meaning everyone on your team gets that amount of money.
- Death crate now creates a proper explosion, Tanya C4.
- Add Veterancy crate which can grant the player 1 up to 1111 veteran points.
- Add support for the stealth crate to stealth the first vehicle you enter, but only your first and once.
Misc Fixes
- Make sure the veterancy health regeneration commences when you spawn or switch character.
- Add a check for the conyard with the "You can now build defenses again." message so it doesn't display unless the conyard is available and not dead too.
- Add the defense purchases to !commands output for players.
- Update the !commands output to include a lot of things, try it.
Future Plans
We've added an Allied Chinook in light blue coloring for delivering vehicles from the vehicle crate once we get around to set crate locations for each map.
We've gotto fix the co-op map Dark_Dawn, it appears to be crashing the server all the time, unsure when this will be done.
New wip co-op map upcoming called RA_Zero_Healing with a Hospital, the Soviet bases and an A-Bomb Silo which will be used for the primary objective of this map.
sla_ro(master) is also gonna work out a co-op map, more details soon.

UltraAOW NewMaps: Mother of all Battles Weekend #2
In the "Mother of all Battles Weekend" we will set the max player count to 126 temporarily, we hope to see some great battles going on between Nod and GDI
Also, in this weekend you can win the game collection "Sanctum 2 Complete" on Steam which contains everything for Sanctum 2's DLC's and the game itself!
All you have to do is be a member of our forums and play the weekend! The person with the most "real" buildings destroyed will receive this prize from me.

When?
Starting on the morning of Friday the 9th of October 2015 we will temporarily replace the rankings on UltraAOW NewMaps with a clean one.
During the weekend it will collect player statistics and on Monday the 12th of October 2015 at midnight Dutch time GMT+1 it ends.
After the weekend the statistics will be restored to what they were and continue as normal.

We've promoted r3surr3Ktx to a Renegade Server Admin and he has access to our server to restart it and stuff in case of a crash.
This nab has been very helpful with us primarily with the download section, selecting new maps for the server rotation and general testing.
After months of respectful activity around here we decided to promote him to a Renegade Server Admin so he can perform additional tasks in the game and the forums.
His primary usergroup is still Download Manager though but he is ALSO a Renegade Server Admin.
Any issues with regards of downloads or the renegade server may be directed to him as well

I'll be a few hours still at work.

Tonight there will be a second NewMaps server online with the joinpassword "newmaps".
It is a clone of the primary NewMaps server.
Why we do this? So we can install a couple of new (old?) maps and test them out for our rotation.
The maps will NOT be available through the downloader on this test server so you must have the .mix files in your Data folder.
Most .mix files can be installed by using our UberMapPack 2015.
If you want to help us test the maps and give your honest opinion about them before we add them into rotation you are free to join us in this server
Note: In the end it is up to Kickmofo, FeaR and me what maps will be in rotation. If people really really don't like a certain map they can always !skip vote it.

Red Alert: A Path Beyond Weekend

Hello everyone i would like to announce that we are going to hold a new gaming event for Red Alert: A Path Beyond which will be the second one this year with more to come maybe in the future.
We will be playing on the MPF AOW/Coop Server with all -or most of- our moderators, players and server developers.

The server records all sorts of things such as kills, games played, vehicles destroyed, buildings destroyed, infantry killed and also which weapon was used to kill with.

Win C&C 3 Tiberium Wars

I bought a legit copy of C&C 3 Tiberium Wars on Steam for the person that played the most games!
The rankings will be reset on Friday the 25th of September 2015. The person ranked with the most played games at the end of the event on Monday the 28th of September 2015 will receive the game as a gift into their Steam account from me.
After the event the stats will be archived and the regular stats will resume
Newcomers
If you are a newcomer to RA:APB or never heared of it:
Red Alert A Path Beyond is a full standalone conversion of the Renegade W3D Engine, you do not need the game Renegade to play it but you can run it along-aside Renegade just fine in case you do have it.
It consists of structures, vehicles, units, sounds and many other custom assets from the game C&C Red Alert.
There are lots of (custom)maps and a few different game-modes such as the classic All Out War, Deathmatch and Co-Op.

There's a few things you can do, one of them is start up your irc, go to: Tools > Options > Connect > edit the Nickname & Alias field(your nick of MPFpaterke and a backup nickname).
 
The other is on a channel, just type in /nick MPFpaterke <- It's better to make sure you have the first way I mentioned as well. Then you can do what r3ssur3Ktx said in his post.
 
What you should do is go onto your backup nickname, and type this(using your own password): 
 
/msg nickserv group MPFpaterke MPFpaterke'sPASSWORD
 
Then you can go back to your normal nick /nick MPFpaterke, and that backup nick will also be able to be identified using the same password. So the next time you lagout of irc, it will switch to that backup nickname and still be identified.

Staff resignations
 
Hawk, whom was providing a server for the community, is leaving for personal reasons. With him, the server will be going too. However, he is letting us continue using his server until the end of August.
 
Server migration
We will be performing a server migration this week onto two brand-new Limestone Networks servers. One server will be running Windows Server 2012 R2, while the other server will host two virtual machines - both Linux - for the website, Linux-based game servers, and our Subversion (SVN) repositories for our Development team.
 
Our current server with OVH will be cancelled this month. 
 
The new servers will incur an increased server bill each month, but with that, we get awesome support and upgradeable servers.

meh. But I did not dream that one day I could reach this position every since it all started in MP-Gaming as a regular player. I have to thank Oxi because without him who pull me into the moderators I won't be here today.
